Lampshade Workshop with Guest Artist Kristina from Urban Fresh Home
Join us for a full day of creativity, relaxation, and craftsmanship as we create a stunning, custom-designed lamp with renowned guest artist Kristina from Urban Fresh Home (USA). This unique workshop blends pottery and textile design to help you craft both a hand-built clay lamp base and a beautifully designed lampshade, all while enjoying a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere.

What to Expect
The day begins with an introduction to pottery, where you’ll work with Danica from Rediscover Ceramics to create your lamp base. Using the slab technique, you’ll roll out clay, imprint nature-inspired textures, and decorate your piece before assembling it. If time allows, you’ll have the option to add vibrant underglazes or finish with a beautiful copper green glaze wash to highlight the textures.

After a delicious lunch break, you’ll join Kristina to create your very own lampshade. Please bring your own material (1/2 meter) to create a standard 30cm drum shade and learn how to assemble it using the included electrical kit and frame.

Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned creator, this workshop is designed to guide you through each step and provide all the support you need to create something beautiful and functional.

Workshop Breakdown:

• 9:00 AM – Arrival with coffee and cake

• 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM – Create your clay lamp base with Danica (slab technique, nature imprints, decorative finishes)

• 12:00 PM – Sit down for a delicious lunch: sushi, sandwiches, fruit, and a glass of prosecco (dietary requirements will be requested)

• 12:30/45 PM - 3:00 PM – Create your lampshade with Kristina (choose from a selection of fabrics, or bring your own)

• Included: Electrical kit, frame for lampshade, and premium materials

Fabric Guidelines:

• Recommended Fabrics: Cotton, linen, cotton drill, polyester cotton (light to medium weight)

• Avoid: Heavy upholstery fabrics, satins, silks, or fabrics with loose weaves

• Tip: Tight weaves and medium-weight fabrics work best for creating a soft, inviting glow

Behind the Scenes:
After the workshop, Danica will fire and glaze your lamp bases, ready for pickup in about 4 weeks. The final pieces will need to be assembled, but you'll leave with a stunning, fully functional lamp to enjoy for years to come.
